Yes. Standard render goes through to the masonry behind — we use resin fixings sized for the wall.
Insulated render (EWI) is different: the fixing has to bridge the insulation into structural block. We use spiral-bolt or through-fixings with load-spreading plates, and specify these at survey.
Every job will be different and we will discuss the fixing options with you once we have completed a survey or assessed pictures of the fixing location.
