Awning Fabric Recover

New fabric for your existing awning. Refresh a patio or shopfront with a made-to-measure Dickson replacement canopy, professional fitting and optional branding.

Replacement awning fabric, without a whole new awning

An awning recover replaces the old canopy fabric while retaining the existing serviceable frame and mechanism. If your awning is in good condition, fabric replacement can be a practical alternative to buying a complete new unit. Aura supplies and fits made-to-measure replacement awning canopies for residential patios and commercial shopfronts, cafés and restaurants.

Whether you call it an awning recover, a replacement awning cover or new fabric for your awning, the aim is the same: a properly measured canopy that suits your existing system. For locations, see our service areas; for a full replacement, explore our awning range.

We check compatibility and condition before confirming the work. New fabric does not change the original awning’s wind rating or resolve worn arms, motors or unsafe fixings; if these need attention, we will discuss them with you.

A fresh look, the same awning

Replace a tired, faded or damaged canopy without replacing a serviceable frame. A new colour or stripe can transform a patio or shopfront.

Shade that feels better

Dickson solar fabrics help protect against UV, heat and glare. Performance varies with the chosen fabric and colour.

Dickson fabrics for awning recovers

Dickson Orchestra is woven from 100% solution-dyed acrylic. Colour pigments are introduced into the fibre itself, helping the fabric retain its colour under UV exposure. The outdoor CleanGard finish supports water repellency and easier care.

Choose textured plains or contemporary stripes across four colour families: Stone greys, Natural neutrals, Solar warm tones and Polar cool tones. We can help balance your building’s colours, the light beneath the canopy and any branding.

Orchestra offers protection from light rainfall, not a promise of waterproof shelter in heavy rain. Correct pitch and the awning’s operating limits still matter; retract it in strong wind and unsuitable weather.

For projects with different weather or fire-performance requirements, the brochure also introduces Max, Opera, Infinity and Spark. Suitability and availability are confirmed for your existing awning and chosen specification.

For shops, cafés and hospitality

Commercial awning recovers and branding

A recover is an opportunity to update your shopfront, introduce a new logo or give an established venue a more consistent identity. Add branding to the valance, the canopy, or both independently.

Valance branding

Put your business name, logo or lettering on the hanging front edge of the awning, where it is visible from the street. Add a new matching valance with your recover, or discuss the right replacement for your existing design.

Canopy branding

Create a larger brand presence on the main fabric canopy. We discuss the size, placement and contrast with your selected fabric so the artwork works with the awning when extended.

Send us your artwork and any brand guidelines. Fabric suitability, artwork, colours and positioning are agreed before production; branding is an optional addition to your recover estimate.

Awning fabric replacement: your questions answered

Can you replace the fabric on an existing awning?

Yes, where the existing frame, roller and mechanism are suitable and in good condition. An awning recover replaces the canopy fabric while retaining the serviceable structure. Send Aura a photo, the width and projection, and any make or model information so we can assess compatibility.

How much does an awning fabric recover cost?

The price depends on the canopy dimensions, chosen fabric, finishing, valance, optional branding and installation requirements. Access and any repairs can also affect the final quotation. Request a fabric recover estimate for an initial price, with the exact specification and fitting scope confirmed before ordering.

Is recovering an awning better than buying a new one?

A recover is worth considering if the fabric is faded, damaged or no longer suits your space but the awning itself still works well. If the frame, arms or mechanism are worn or unsuitable, a complete replacement may be the better option. We assess the existing awning rather than assuming new fabric alone is the answer.

Which fabric can I choose for a replacement awning canopy?

Dickson Orchestra solution-dyed acrylic is an option for solar protection, with plain colours, textures and stripes. The right replacement fabric depends on your awning system and intended use. View the Dickson brochure and discuss your preferred colour and any weather or fire-performance requirements with our team.

Can I add a new valance and a logo to my awning?

Yes. You can select a matching replacement valance and add valance branding, canopy branding or both. Artwork, positioning and fabric suitability are agreed before production, making a recover an opportunity to refresh a shop, café or restaurant’s identity.

Does new awning fabric make the awning waterproof?

Not automatically. Dickson Orchestra is water-repellent and suitable for light rainfall, but it is not a guarantee of protection in heavy rain. The awning’s pitch and original operating limits still apply. A fabric recover does not upgrade the frame’s wind rating.

What can your recover include?

  • Made-to-measure replacement canopy fabric
  • A matching valance, if selected
  • Optional valance and/or canopy branding
  • Delivery and professional installation as quoted

Your quotation confirms the selected fabric, finishing and installation scope. Any frame repairs, motor work or special access requirements are assessed separately.
