Dutch & Wedge Canopies
Bespoke canopies for shopfronts, cafés, entrances and character homes. Made to measure in Dickson fabric, with optional valances and branding.
A canopy built around your window or door
Unlike a retractable patio awning, a canopy sits closer to the building and shapes the look of the façade. Dutch canopies fold back when not needed; wedge and hooped canopies stay fixed for a permanent, tailored finish. Both are popular for retail, hospitality and residential bay windows.
Looking for deeper patio shade instead? See our retractable awnings. Already have a canopy that looks tired? Ask about a fabric recover.
Street presence
A canopy frames your entrance or window, adds colour to the façade and makes a shop, café or salon easier to spot.
Made to fit
Each canopy is made to measure for your window or doorway, up to 6 metres wide and 1.5 metres projection for standard styles.
Your colours, your brand
Choose from Dickson acrylic colours and add a straight or scalloped valance with optional lettering or logo branding.

Canopy questions
What is a Dutch canopy?
A Dutch canopy is a curved, hooped canopy that folds back on itself using a cord and cleat. It is a classic choice for shopfronts, bay windows and period homes.
What is the difference between a Dutch and a wedge canopy?
Dutch canopies have a rounded profile and can usually be folded back. Wedge canopies have straight, angled sides and are typically fixed in place, giving a crisper modern look over a door or window.
Can you brand a canopy?
Yes. Business names, logos and lettering can be added to the valance, the canopy, or both. Artwork, colours and placement are agreed before production.
Do I need planning permission for a shopfront canopy?
Shopfront canopies and branding may need planning permission or advertisement consent, particularly in conservation areas. Check with your local authority; we can help with the specification details you need.
How do I get a canopy price?
Use our online estimate and choose Canopy in Question 2. Pick your style, enter the width and projection, and you receive an indicative price straight away. Walkway canopies are quoted individually.
