How long does an awning installation take?

Accepted Answer

Most single residential awning installations take **3-4 hours** on site.

Multiple awning installations at one location can take a full day. Some larger projects might be spread across multiple days.

Question 2

What does the site survey involve?

Accepted Answer

The surveyor visits your property (free of charge), takes exact measurements, inspects the wall build-up, checks door and window clearance, and discusses your options in person.

We will also run through our full fabric range with the customer to select your favourite choices. Customers can request up to 6 fabric samples to be sent out next day delivery to help you decide.

We will also run through access to power for motorised units, the wall composition, access onsite for large awnings, any obstacles that will need to be considered.

Do you need scaffolding?

Accepted Answer

For single-storey installs no — we work from ladders and tower platforms. First-floor and higher installs usually need a lightweight tower; awkward access or listed buildings occasionally need external scaffold.

Scaffolding is included in the quote if required.

Question 4

Do you need electrics for a motorised awning?

Accepted Answer

Yes — a motorised awning needs a **6 amp fused spur** near the awning position. If there's no existing spur, our electrician can supply and fit one prior to the install.

Question 5

Can you fit an awning to render or insulated render?

Accepted Answer

Yes. **Standard render** goes through to the masonry behind — we use resin fixings sized for the wall.

**Insulated render (EWI)** is different: the fixing has to bridge the insulation into structural block. We use spiral-bolt or through-fixings with load-spreading plates, and specify these at survey.

Every job will be different and we will discuss the fixing options with you once we have completed a survey or assessed pictures of the fixing location.
