For most homes we recommend motorised — it's more comfortable, protects the awning and unlocks smart features like wind sensors.
Manual awnings work well for smaller units up to about 4m wide and cost less up front. Motorised units come with a Somfy motor, a Situo remote and (as standard) an Eolis wind sensor that automatically retracts the awning when it gusts.
